Community Engagement

Tyra Aitel is a dedicated Community Engagement Member at The Foundation WA, where she focuses on building meaningful relationships with youth and supporting their personal growth. For the past two years, Tyra has connected with young people both inside and outside of the organization, helping them find resources, guidance, and a sense of belonging within the Foundation.

Originally from Chuuk, one of the outer islands, Tyra was inspired to join The Foundation by Lester’s vision and her own personal experiences, which allow her to deeply understand and relate to the youth she serves. After earning her high school diploma in 2024, she has continued to build on her passion for mentorship and community work.

Tyra finds joy in watching young people grow, gain confidence, and realize they are capable of achieving anything — even during their lowest moments. When she’s not working, she enjoys exploring archaeology, discovering fossils, and watching historical documentaries that deepen her understanding of how humanity has evolved.
